The basilisk is a form of minor dragon. They look like large lizards. They have no wings and do not fly. They have a very strong armored hide and large claws. Their breath is the same as a 40 point fireball. Their glance is the same as an instant death spell. You will either find them alone or with their young. In or near the nest you will find from 1 to 10 basilisk young. The breath of these young do damage equal to 10 point fireball spells. Their glance is also an instant death spell, but if successful, the victim, rather than dying will lose 1/3 of their constitution for 1 week. Three successful glance attacks from the young results in instant death.
